When Porn rules the world
Welcome to the modern peep show. Today's legal porn business is a $56 billion global industry and very different from when FORBES published its groundbreaking coverage in the 1970s about mob enforcers and under-the-table cash payments. Says Berth Milton, 43, a second-generation Swedish pornographer and the chairman of Private Media Group: "The era of paying cash under the table is over." (Excerpt from Forbes.com)

Porn: one of the only successful e-businesses?
Sex sells. As the number one income generator on the Internet today, pornography is a ripe business that will continue to grow along with the advancement of technology. With a reported annual growth rate of 40% since 1997, and the status of being the most queried subject on search engines, pornography is a thriving industry and one of the only successful e-businesses.
The pornography industry is at the forefront of technology. While it is not the only industry supporting technological advances, the pornography industry has invested a lot of money into the future of technology. Porn sites have been dedicated to upgrading their servers and developing broadband capabilities to make access faster and easier for their users. In addition, virtual reality mechanisms can help the porn profits rise even more. The porn business is aimed at satisfying their customers, and unlike mainstream companies, porn business has more leeway to conduct technological experiments.
With the advancements in technology, the future of the porn business can only get financially better. Current porn customers will most likely pay top dollar to try out the new virtual reality products, and these products will likely spark the curiosity of new users. Beyond more revenue, however, lies the prospects of legal action. Will advancements of technology lead to a need for porn regulation? This could pose a financial problem for porn sites. Porn addiction
A recent article in New York magazine contained interviews with men who said they were hooked on Internet porn.
"Dude, all of my friends are so obsessed with Internet porn that they can't sleep with their girlfriends unless they act like porn stars," a 26-year-old businessman told the article's author.
"Just imagine the adolescents who, you know, their sexual coming of age has totally coincided with the Internet and high-speed connections," reporter David Amsden said. "As opposed to the 13-year-old boy [before the Internet existed] who is lucky to find one Playboy" magazine.
Like it or hate it, Internet porn is here to stay, Amsden said. And the key, said sex therapist Laura Berman, is to keep it in check. (Excerpts from cnn.com)

Welcome to the School of Porn
The Online Adult business is gigantic.
Did you know that the online Adult industry generated over $9 billion in revenue last year? That's right, $9,000,000,000! Not only did that account for 12% of the total e-commerce in 2005, the online Adult business currently is, and always will be, the number one product/service on the Internet. Were you also aware that according to a recent Forbes Article, the Adult industry is completely "recession-resistant?" In other words, no matter how poorly our economy performs, Adult Webmasters will continue to turn profits.
What is Adult Webmaster School?

Porn: How far can it go?
According to research from December 2005, more than 38 million people visited adult Web sites and spent an average of about 90 minutes there.
Even with Neilsen's numbers showing that a significant number of Americans visit these sites, analysts say there's no accurate way to determine how much money is being spent because the various sites rely on very different payment and/or subscription schemes. (Excerpts from abcnews.com)

Free Porn on cell phones
Size matters in pornography, except when it comes to tiny mobile phone screens, the next frontier for erotica.
If the adult entertainment industry has its way, Americans will soon get a choice of free porn on cell phones-- or at least some photographs of good-looking girls in bikinis.
"It will be impossible to stop the adult business exploitation of mobile entertainment," said Gregory Piccionelli, a lawyer specializing in adult entertainment at law firm Piccionelli & Sarno.
He predicted that U.S. consumers may soon be offered free porn on mobile phones alongside paid services like live video or "adult dates," a term for prearranged sex with strangers. (Excerpts from mit.edu)

Protecting the children or business interests?
THE world's leading adult film studio is calling on internet giants Google and Yahoo to "erect stronger barriers" to keep children from viewing online pornography.
"None of the search engines and portals, but particularly Yahoo and Google, has taken any significant steps in this direction," Mr Hirsch said.
"This is not about First Amendment rights, it is about protecting children."
Vivid is offering to work with any internet company interested in making it tougher for children to be exposed, even accidentally, to adult material online. (Excerpts from australianit.news.com.au)

...and the end of family values
At the adult video convention in Las Vegas in January, Sunny was there to market herself, and her parents were right there beside her. But Shelby and Mike seem to have taken their support to a whole new level. While at the conference, they looked into getting life-size, anatomically correct sex dolls molded of their daughter.
"I do want to have a doll that looks exactly like me," said Sunny. "[My parents] support anything that I have to do with my business, and it's my decision. And if I want a doll, I want a doll." (Excerpts from abcnews.go.com)
